Here is the deal .. it it darn hot working in Tanzania. We spent the day at the National Library in Dar. The power was out today! The room we held the session in was top notch, large with open air windows on 2 sides. That said, with extremely warm temperatures and high humidity I was certainly a drowned rat for the entire day. A big change from home and very neat to experience. It certainly did not affect the quality of work as the day started early when the TLSB sent over a vehicle to pick us up at 8:45.... I rode shotgun!!
Augusto and Francis assisted a gentleman with a Spanish application as promised the day before.
We held 5 x 1-1.5 hour workshops with key staff ... Dr . Mcharazo had his people in attendance and personally joined us for most of the day.
Lunch was brought in and included a fried banana, chicken, a beef/potatoe kabob and samosa.
After lunch Dr. Mcharazo's assistant brought a jug of water and catch basin to each of us to wash our hands.
Christie, Francis, Augusto and Xiao made the very most of our time Mon./Tuesday in data collection mode.... and are off to Morogoro with best wishes.. and some new friendships who departed on the steps of the TLSB and national Library. Mama Africa was decked out again as you can see... a very unique librarian.
Dinner.... at an outdoor fast food spot in Dar-es-Salaam
